Biografía. Pablo es un socio del productor musical Timbaland, quien había esperado firmar al rapero para su sello Beat Club, pero cuando comenzó a iniciar las negociaciones de su compra, Pablo ya había firmado con Jive Records. Hizo su debut profesional en 2000 en el álbum de Timbaland & Magoo, Indecent Proposal.

In 1997, Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz debuted with Get Crunk, Who U Wit: Da Album. After releasing We Still Crunk!! in 2000, the group signed to TVT Records. Under TVT the group put out three albums: Put Yo Hood Up in 2001, Kings of Crunk in 2002, and Crunk Juice in 2004.
The secondary revival of crunk in the realm of mainstream popular music did not occur until the end of the 2010s, when the San Francisco–based female rapper Saweetie sampled Petey Pablo's 2004 crunk hit "Freek-a-Leek" for her 2019 hit single "My Type."
