Fenger Academy High School is a public 4–year high school located in the Roseland neighborhood on the far south side of Chicago, Illinois, United States. Fenger is a part of the Chicago Public Schools district. The school is named for Danish surgeon Christian Fenger. Fenger opened in 1893.

History. The forerunner of Fenger High School, Kensington Elementary, was a six room, grade and high school level school built in 1853 on the corner of 116th St. and Michigan Avenue. In 1894, Curtis Elementary and High School was opened. Curtis was renamed Christian Fenger High School in 1916.
Welcome to the new Christian Fenger Academy High School! As you may know, Chicago Public Schools (CPS) identified Fenger High School as a Turnaround School beginning with the 2008-2009 school year. Due to this initiative, Fenger has undergone extensive building renovations.
