Yu So-chow ( chino: 于 素秋; pinyin: Yú Sù Qiū; Yale cantonés: yū sou chāu; 9 de julio de 1930 - 12 de mayo de 2017) es una ex actriz china de Hong Kong. Yu tiene una estrella en Avenue of Stars en Hong Kong.
Yu So Chow comes from a family of actors. Her father was the famous Peking Opera actor Yu Jim Yuen, and she apprenticed for female warrior roles in Peking Operas at the age of eight. She made her stage debut at nine, when she performed Northern Style martial arts.
1930-2017. Actress and Cantonese opera artist Yu So Chow was born Yu Siu Yuen to a family of actors. Her father was the famous Peking opera virtuoso Yu Zhanyuan. She began her training in female warrior roles aged eight and made her debut a year later, performing northern-style martial arts.

Her father, Yu Zhanyuan, was a famous Peking opera wusheng (male lead in a martial role) himself, as well as the master of the renowned "Seven Little Fortunes" which includes Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan and Yuen Biao.
16 de may. de 2017 · Actress Yu So-chow died at the age of 89 in the United States last Friday. The actress's family has said her funeral will take place next Tuesday in San Francisco. Yu started her acting career in 1948 and made a total of over 200 films in Mandarin and Cantonese including over 170 martial arts movies.
