These have been in operation for over 500 years in the middle of Qori Pujio mountain slopes, Sacred Valley of the Incas, (Cusco – Peru), and are still mined by local families. In the distance, these resemble a snow layer.
The salt cave is lined with over 10,000 pounds of Himalayan rock salt boulders, and granulated Himalayan salt rests on the heated floor of the cave. The Himalayan rock salt is millions of years old and it contains over 84 trace minerals that are readily absorbed by the human body.
