Tantric is an American rock band from Louisville, Kentucky. The group was founded in 1998 by Todd Whitener, Jesse Vest and Mat Taul after they left Days of the New, and joined forces with vocalist Hugo Ferreira. Ferreira is the only remaining member of the band from the original lineup.

14 de abr. de 2019 · Three of the members of Tantric – guitarist Todd Whitener, drummer Matt Taul and bassist Jesse Vest – were part of the late-‘90s group Days of the New, which rode the coattails of grunge bands like Soundgarden and Alice in Chains to mainstream popularity.
Background and recording. In November 1998, after a turbulent relationship on the road, Todd Whitener, Jesse Vest, and Matt Taul were fired from the band Days of the New.The day they were fired, the three were cutting instrumental demos for what would become songs on Tantric.However, in the meantime, Whitener, Vest, and Taul would have to survive through low-wage jobs.
