H.C. McEntire is a musician, composer, producer, and writer. Born and raised in the Appalachian foothills of Green Creek, NC, she currently lives in Durham, NC.
Heather "H.C." McEntire is an American folk musician from Durham, North Carolina. History. McEntire began her career in the band Mount Moriah. McEntire released her first solo album, LIONHEART, in 2018, through Merge Records. McEntire released her second full-length album in 2020 titled Eno Axis, through Merge Records.
H.C. McEntire’s new album Every Acre grapples with those themes—themes that encompass grief, loss, and links to land and loved ones. And naming—claiming land, claiming self, being claimed by ancestry and heritage—permeates the hauntingly beautiful landscape that is this poignant collection of songs.
