Contact. Select Page. About Danny. Danny moved to London from Sheffield in 1979 to pursue his career as a musician, joining John Martyn’s band making five albums and touring extensively. Pop success followed, including a world tour with Wham! which led to a long association with George Michael.

At age 12, Cummings began drumming in the school band. At age 21, Danny Cummings' parents gave him a second-hand conga for his birthday. His early influences included Curtis Mayfield, Isaac Hayes, Bill Withers, and Carlos Santana. Today, in addition to congas and drums, Cummings plays a long list of African instruments and experiments with electronic sounds.
