Erik Darling, the reedy-voiced guitarist and banjo player who deftly stepped in when Pete Seeger left the pioneering folk music group The Weavers, has died after battling lymphoma. He was 74.

3 de ago. de 2008 · Erik Darling discovered the song, by then an all-but forgotten "classic" in 1962, and rearranged and revamped it with a 12-string guitar "walking bass" part in mind. He also got the brilliant idea that if one 12-string guitar was good, two would be even better.
Erik Darling (September 25, 1933 – August 3, 2008) born in Baltimore, Maryland. Darling was an American songwriter and a folk music artist becoming an important influence on the folk scene in the late 1950s and early 1960s.
