The album was recorded in London, New York, Sweden and Los Angeles and featured Bernard Butler on some of the tracks. For this album, Nova also recorded a contemporary-styled cover of the standard "Gloomy Sunday", a song originally made popular by Billie Holiday.
Bernard Joseph Butler (born 1 May 1970) is an English musician, songwriter and record producer. He has been hailed by some critics as the greatest guitarist of his generation; BBC journalist Mark Savage called him "one of Britain's most original and influential guitarists".

The Tears were an English rock supergroup formed in 2004 by ex- Suede bandmates Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler, along with the former Delicatessen and Lodger members Will Foster (keyboardist), bassist Nathan Fisher, and Bernard Butler session drummer Makoto Sakamoto.
