5 de nov. de 2019 · Jonny Ray’s elder brother, Dave Lee Bartel, joined later on rhythm guitar, supporting an ever-shifting assortment of hotshot lead players. The Blue Shadows were already whipping up a storm at the King King by the time the elder Bartel enlisted.
According to guitarist Dave Lee Bartel, "He [Rubin] had the vision of it all". One of his first orders of business was a name change: the Blue Shadows became the Red Devils (a name once used by a rockabilly band with the Bartel brothers).

7 de oct. de 2023 · Around 1986 the band reinvented itself for a short while as a power-chord trio, with Dave Lee Bartel on guitar, Emy Lee on vocals and electric bass and newcomer Troy Mack (from Jimmy and the Mustangs, among others) on drums. It’s not a whole chapter of the Devils’ story, but it’s at least a page.

13 de ene. de 2024 · Dave Lee Bartel out of the shadows. It’s been far too long that we have had a Dave Lee Bartel sighting. Fortunately, there is video evidence. Dave Lee was back onstage where he belongs at the Gaslamp in Long Beach, California, on Nov. 22, 2023. The occasion was a Blue Shadows gig, caught on digital by Matt McCroskey, below.
On another Willie Dixon number, ‘Tail Dragger’, Size cuts in with a jagged intro while fellow guitarist Dave Lee Bartel lays down the classic riff. Butler adds his own lyrics, bawling his appreciation for his baby, before Size cuts loose again with a solo that’s sweet and decorous in exactly the same way that razor wire isn’t.
