Irish artist Grace Weir studied at the National College of Art and Design and Trinity College Dublin. Inspired by scientific and mathematical theory, Weir works primarily in film to investigate the nature of identity and experience, and the transfer of ideas.
Grace Weir is fascinated by space and time, gorgeous complexities for quantum physicists and experimental filmmakers alike. Black Square (a 40-minute, dual-screen video projection) follows the artist and her technical team to the Very Large Telescope on Cerro Paranal in Chile in pursuit of a picture of a black hole.

Visual Arts. Grace Weir. Born in Dublin, in 1962, Grace Weir works primarily in the moving image and installation. A graduate of the National College of Art and Design and Trinity College, Dublin (M.Sc in Interactive Media), her work focusses on the slippages between the conceptual and experiential in different fields of enquiry.
