Oliver "Oli" Steadman is a British - South African multi-instrumentalist . Stornoway. Steadman is a founding member of Stornoway [1] [2] and through them is a volunteer with many nature conservation trusts including HIWWT, RSPB, [3] [4] Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, [5] Woodland Trust, [6] and British Trust for Ornithology. Stornoway are a British indie folk band from the Cowley area of Oxford. As of 2023 the band is led by ornithologist [2] Brian Briggs as singer, guitarist, and main songwriter, with multi-instrumentalists Jon Ouin and Oli Steadman .

New-wave folk band Stornoway released their fourth studio album ‘ Dig the Mountain! ‘ in October 2023, achieving their first Top Ten in the UK album sales charts.
As the demise of the band happened amicably, Briggs and his bandmates (keyboard player Jon Ouin and bassist Oli Steadman) stayed in touch, along with Steadman’s drummer sibling Rob, even though he now resides across the Atlantic.
