Gary Shea nació en Manchester, Inglaterra, el 24 de mayo de 1984. A los 20 años empezó a estudiar español y, al mismo tiempo, a escribir cuentos. Como si esa segunda lengua lo hubiera habilitado o desinhibido. Hace siete años llegó a Buenos Aires para cursar el máster en Periodismo de LA NACION y la Universidad Torcuato Di Tella.
