Nathan Good left the band during the making of the album and was replaced briefly by Jayson Tolzdorf-Larson. Gibbard played drums on the majority of the album, with Good's playing on "The Employment Pages" and "Company Calls Epilogue" kept on the final release. [3]
Jayson Tolzdorf-Larson very briefly replaced Good for the Death Cab for Fiver 7-inch (also released in 2000) and as a touring drummer, before then being replaced by Michael Schorr, who would contribute to The Forbidden Love EP in 2000, Death Cab’s third full-length album The Photo Album in 2001, and The Stability EP in 2002.
Death Cab for Cutie supported the album with their first full nationwide tour, with drummer Jayson Tolzdorf-Larson joining. No singles were released from the album, though the LP was followed by an extended play, The Forbidden Love EP, several months after its release.
