Christian Mary McEwen, Lady Hesketh, OBE, DL (17 July 1929 – 7 April 2006) was a British politician, journalist and educationist.
Biography. "Christian Mary McEwen was born on 17 July 1929. She was the daughter of Sir John Helias Finnie McEwen of Marchmont and Bardrochat, 1st Bt, and Bridget Mary Lindley. "She married Major Frederick Fermor-Hesketh, 2nd Baron Hesketh, son of Thomas Fermor-Hesketh, 1st Baron Hesketh and Florence Louise Breckinridge, on 22 November 1949.
Hesketh succeeded in the barony (and baronetcy) on 6 October 1955, aged four, when his father, Frederick Fermor-Hesketh, 2nd Baron Hesketh, died aged 39. His mother, Christian Mary McEwen, Dowager Lady Hesketh, served as the High Sheriff of Northamptonshire in 1981. [1]
