James Ray "Bud" Cockrell (March 28, 1950 – March 6, 2010) was an American musician and singer-songwriter, best known as the original bassist and one of the lead vocalists for the San Francisco-based California rock band Pablo Cruise.
17 de mar. de 2010 · BUD COCKRELL, 59, lead vocalist for Pablo Cruise, who sang on such hits as "Whatcha Gonna Do?" and "Place in the Sun," died in his sleep due to complications from kidney failure. The Greenville, MS, native was in S.F. band It’s A Beautiful Day before joining Pablo Cruise.
Pattie Santos, who had formed Cockrell & Santos with her husband, former bassist Bud Cockrell, in 1977, was killed in a car crash near Geyserville in Sonoma County, California on December 14, 1989. Cockrell himself died in 2010. It's a Beautiful Day reformed occasionally for reunions and special concerts.
