Roy Babbington (born 8 July 1940 in Kempston, Bedfordshire, England) is an English rock and jazz bassist. He became well known for being a member of the Canterbury scene progressive rock band Soft Machine.
6 de dic. de 2021 · Soft Machine have announced that bass player Roy Babbington has retired. The longstanding bass playr has also chosen his successor for the band in former In Cahoots bass player Fred Thelonious Baker.
Fred Thelonious Baker is one of Britain’s finest bass players. He replaced Roy Babbington in Soft Machine in January 2022 and was in fact chosen by Roy to be his successor.
