“Kilburn Grammar School” occupied the site in Salusbury Road, London, NW6, from 1900. It was purpose-built and remained under this title until 1967, when it became known as “Kilburn Senior High School”.

Kilburn Grammar School was an English grammar school which opened in 1898 in Kilburn, north-west London. The school ceased to exist in 1967.
Kilburn Grammar School’s history equals in time the proverbial human life span of three score years and ten. Like a human being it was born, it grew in size, in strength and in achievement and it reached maturity.
24 de oct. de 2020 · Fees for secondary education were only finally abolished in 1944. Kilburn Grammar School was founded in 1897 as a boys’ choir school by Dr. George Bonavia Hunt, vicar of St Paul's, Kilburn. This was the time when there was no state provision for secondary education.
He attended Kilburn Grammar School and then Downing College, Cambridge, graduating with a first-class honours degree in history in 1923. As a young man Hutt became a convinced communist and member of the Communist Party of Great Britain.
In passing, when Gerry and I made our 'sixty years on' visit to our old haunts, we looked in on the hallowed structure that was Kilburn Grammar School.
