Welcome to the Official Reed Kailing Page! Join me on an exciting musical journey that spans many years in the history of some of the best rock and roll to be known. I’ve performed with the Grass Roots, ABC’s Hardy Boys, and Badfinger, as well as on Broadway’s record-breaking, box-office hit show, Beatlemania.
BRIEF BIO. I am Reed Kailing, a rock-and-roll veteran with affiliations in many great groups of the rock era. I have been a member of the Grass Roots, Player, and Badfinger. My many credits also include the Broadway run of Beatlemania, in which I played the role of Paul McCartney to rave reviews.
Reed Kailing has performed with The Grass Roots from (1972 to 1974), ABC’s Hardy Boys, Badfinger, and on Broadway’s record-breaking hit Beatlemania.

Reed and the Prelude to Player (2) At that point, I looked around the room, thanked Warren (who even today I still consider a good friend) for thinking of me as a possible colleague in this venture. It was on a hot, summer day in Waterford Wisconsin, 1956, that my friend Jim Scarry bumped into me and asked, “Have you heard about Elvis?”. “Who’s that?”. I replied. “Elvis Presley just released Hound Dog. This is hot; it’s gonna be big!”. Jim said. Unknowingly, Jim had planted the seed.
We decided to take a break mid-tour in order to reschedule events and dates that would make more sense from a traveling perspective. During that time, Tommy and Bob stayed in what is now my guest house in Mequon. It was November. I remember my parents, who were living in the main house, invited both Tom and Bob to a Thanksgiving dinner.
