Terence Woods (born 4 December 1947) is an Irish folk musician, songwriter/singer and multi-instrumentalist. He is known for his membership in such folk and folk- rock groups as The Pogues, Steeleye Span, Sweeney's Men, The Bucks, Dr. Strangely Strange and the short-lived Orphanage, with Phil Lynott.
Terry Woods. Born: December 4, 1947 in Dublin, Ireland. Instruments: Cittern, Concertina, Mandolin, Banjo, Vocals, and many more. Terry learned to play the banjo when he was 14 and formed his first band in the early sixties with his girlfriend Gay. First they called themselves The Apprentice Folk, and later shortened the name to The Prentice Folk .
Terry Woods and James Fearnley subsequently left the band and were replaced by David Coulter and James McNally respectively. Within months of their departures, ill health forced Phil Chevron to leave the band; he was replaced by his former guitar technician, Jamie Clarke. Terry Woods is a fictional character from the British television soap opera Emmerdale, played by Billy Hartman. He was one of the longest-serving characters in the show up until he was killed off alongside Viv Hope ( Deena Payne) in early 2011, after 16 years.
