16 de may. de 2023 · The blue economy, or the ocean economy, is a term used to describe the economic activities associated with the oceans and seas. The World Bank defines the blue economy as the “sustainable use of ocean resources to benefit economies, livelihoods and ocean ecosystem health”.

30 de may. de 2024 · Maritime transport is the second largest blue economy sector in turnover, generating nearly a quarter of the EU blue economy GVA in 2021. The marine renewable energy sector (mainly offshore wind) also experienced growing trends, with gross profits estimated at €2.4 billion and GVA of €3.3 billion in 2021, marking a 45% increase compared to 2020.
