Squeeze is an English new wave band from London. Formed in March 1974, the group originally consisted of guitarists and vocalists Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford, bassist Harri Kakoulli, keyboardist Jools Holland and drummer Paul Gunn.
Gilson Lavis replaced Gunn on drums, and Harri Kakoulli joined on bass in 1975. Squeeze's early career was spent around Deptford in south-east London, where they were part of a lively local music scene which included Alternative TV and Dire Straits.
Harri Kakoulli has been around a long time. He was the former bass man for UK mod band Squeeze, and for the last 15 years been a largely unnoticed but significant contributor to the world fusion scene in the UK.
