Lucid Possession is a schizophrenic duet between a woman with a head like a radio receiver and her own avatar. The result is like a complex three-dimensional, automated video pop-up book, and as characters are brought to life through motion, voice, and robotics, the boundaries of the real and virtual are blurred.
Lurking behind the architecture of the narrative of Lucid Possession is a meditation on the nature of life lived in the networks of social media and online communities that include email, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare: a landscape that is evolving so rapidly that to identify an element of it is to be already outdated.

Bean starts to stress out about the exposure, and the voices she hears begin to traverse time and space. Dove explains: "All the anxiety of Bean's work starts to have a paranormal effect.
Co-produced by Issue Project Room, HERE and Roulette, Lucid Possession will premiere April 25-27th at Roulette. One of the pioneers of interactive cinema, Toni Dove creates hybrid performance, installation and screen-based art that fuses film, game or instrument based interaction, and experimental theater.
