Hades was formed in Bergen, Norway in 1992 by ex- Immortal guitarist Jørn Inge Tunsberg and ex-Dark drummer Remi Andersen. They were later joined by vocalist and bassist Jan Otto "Janto" Garmannslund and second guitarist Wilhelm Nagel.
The Pulse of Decay is the fourth studio album by Norwegian black metal band Hades Almighty. It was released in 2001 through Psycho Bitch Records and is the last to feature long-time vocalist and bassist Jan Otto "Janto" Garmanslund.
Senere komplettert med bassist og vokalist Jan Otto «Janto» Garmanslund. Det har også vært et par gitarister innom, blant annet «Nagel» og «Stig». Bandet har vært i medias søkelys på grunn av Tunsbergs deltagelse i nedbrenningen av Åsane gamle kirke, sammen med Varg Vikernes, julaften 1992.
