Michael "Slyde" Jennings Zapp (also known as the Zapp Band, Zapp & Roger ) is an American funk band that emerged from Dayton, Ohio , United States, in 1977. Particularly influential in the electro subgenre of funk, Zapp were known for their trademark use of the talk-box effect.

The original band included Larry Kidd (trumpet), Keith Nash (drums), Charles "Mabe" Jackson (lead vocals), Lamar Webster (bass, vocals), Dallas Webster (lead guitar), Delbert "Cool Papa" Jones (rhythm guitar, vocals), and Michael "Slyde" Jennings (trombone, vocals). They made one locally distributed 45 in 1979, but it's a really good one.
