The AB in Biology includes 14 courses and offers the opportunity to explore multiple academic interests within or outside the field. Prerequisites in math and chemistry support a core of 10 biology (and neuroscience) courses, with some options for related sciences.

Concentrations. Economics. Business Track. Economics is the study of the allocation of resources in a society. Business Economics focuses on a specific group of problems and settings, in particular those involving firms, consumers, and regulators.
The A.B. degree enables students to combine a rigorous and interdisciplinary foundation in engineering with the diverse opportunities offered by Brown's liberal arts curriculum. With only ten required courses, it provides the most flexibility.
Design Your Education. Complete Your Degree. Earning a Single Degree with more than one Concentration | 4 Years. Approximately 20 percent of Brown students complete their Baccalaureate degrees with more than one concentration within the standard eight semesters of full-time study.
Whether pursuing the Bachelor of Arts (A.B.) or Science (Sc.B.) in biology, students can expect to learn broadly in the discipline through a selection of courses in three areas: cell and molecular biology, structure and function, and organismal biology.
