Gary Moffet has enjoyed an illustrious career in the music industry as guitarist, composer, producer and arranger. Widely known for being a member of April Wine, Gary was a major force behind the band’s studio sound and live performance from 1973 until the group’s disbanding in 1984.

After 30 years apart, he convinced fellow April Wine band mate Gary Moffet, guitarist, composer, producer and arranger, to be the rhythm guitar guy in his dream band. Gary and Jerry’s many years playing together gives them almost a sixth sense about how to lock down a groove and that groove is back like they never missed a beat.
While the band was recording their third album in 1973, David and Ritchie Henman quit. Goodwyn and Clench held auditions and the replacements were drummer Jerry Mercer (formerly of Mashmakhan) and guitarist Gary Moffet.
The Biography. Gary Moffatt grew up in a musical family in sunny Central Florida. Born in Anchorage, Alaska, the oldest of three boys, Gary found the love for drums in the second grade when the Beatles invaded the US.

Early in 1973 the two remaining members, Myles Goodwyn and Jim Clench, faced the dilemma of taking the band to the next level. After a few auditions Jerry Mercer and Gary Moffet joined the band and April Wine became a tighter, flashier band. The two new members helped to complete album number three; Electric Jewels.
