John Glascock (2 May 1951 – 17 November 1979) was a British musician. He was the bassist and occasional lead vocalist of the rock band Carmen from 1972 to 1975; and the bass guitarist for progressive rock band Jethro Tull from 1976 until his death in 1979.

John Glascock was a bass guitarist who played with several bands, including The Gods, Head Machine, Chicken Shack, and Carmen. He joined Jethro Tull in 1976 and sang backing vocals, but left in 1979 due to health problems.

2 de abr. de 2020 · In November 1979, just two months after it was released, John Glascock died at the age of twenty-eight as a result of a congenital heart condition. It was said that he’d damaged his health with drink and drugs, and that you’d threatened to kick him out of the band in an effort to straighten him out.
A Belated Happy 70th to the late John Glascock. His life ended all too soon, but John Glascock left behind a body of work that one can’t help but admire. Be it with one of prog’s hidden gems in Carmen or one of its titans in Jethro Tull, John was always a tremendous asset to any band he joined.
