13 de sept. de 2022 · Jack Grondin, who grew up in Kenilworth and played drums for the southern rock band 38 Special, visited his hometown and told his life story at the VFW. He talked about his musical journey, his struggles with addiction, his faith and his family.
The new group comprised Van Zant, Barnes, Lyons, Brookins, second drummer Jack Grondin and a returning Carlisi. The band's name was thought up after an incident which found the boys practicing in a warehouse out in the middle of nowhere.
Jack Grondin. Jack Grondin played a crucial role as one of the original drummers and percussionists in 38 Special from the band’s inception in 1974 until 1991. His rhythmic contributions helped solidify the foundation of the band’s sound, blending rock with Southern influences.
It would also be their last album with long time guitarist and founding member Jeff Carlisi and drummer Jack Grondin. The album itself was a modest commercial success and only reached #170 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
