8 de jul. de 2020 · Original Louisville punk bands Skull of Glee, Bunny Butthole, The Blinders and later bands The Bulls, Eleventh Dream Day and Bodeco all had one member in common: Matthew “Wink” O’Bannon. Wink, his adopted moniker, stuck after choosing the punk name Wink Cadaver.
1 de jul. de 2020 · On the last day of June 2020, we lost a great Louisville musician to cancer, Matthew "Wink" O'Bannon. Wink was a member of many bands including Blinders, Bodeco, and Eleventh Dream Day, and also worked as a solo artist. He was also known as a punk rock legend in this town.
14 de oct. de 2021 · Wink O’Bannon has been described as a key architect of the Louisville punk scene in the late ’70s, and was the primal force behind the roots rock act, Bodeco, later joining up with Chicago’s sleeping giant, Eleventh Dream Day.

Follow-ups Beet (1989) and Lived to Tell (1991) won more strong reviews but did not sell many copies; Figi left during the Lived to Tell tour and was replaced by Matthew "Wink" O'Bannon. The band made a stab for commercial success with 1993's El Moodio, but the effort was unsuccessful and EDD was dropped from Atlantic's roster.

Mr. O'Bannon is/was one of Louisville's original punks, was in many of the first punk bands in town, and moved on to playing country/bluegrass as a number of this town's older punks do.
