Dirty Rotten Imbeciles (often abbreviated and referred to as D.R.I.) is an American crossover thrash band that formed in Houston in 1982 and would later relocate to San Francisco. The band is currently composed of two of its founding members, lead vocalist Kurt Brecht and guitarist Spike Cassidy, as well as bassist Greg Orr and drummer Rob Rampy.

In 1986, John Tabares left the band and Eric Brecht (brother of D.R.I.'s vocalist Kurt Brecht) joined. After the change, they released their second album, Hate, Fear and Power , [5] which was only 16 minutes and eight songs in length.
Kurt Preston Brecht (born August 24, 1961) is an American vocalist best known for his work as the singer of crossover thrash band D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles). He is also in a thrash band called Pasadena Napalm Division (P.N.D.).
Eric Brecht is best known as drummer for DRI (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) between 1982 and 1985. Brecht gets replaced by Rob Rampy. Eric Brecht also played in Death for a while in 1985, replacing Barney 'Kam' Lee, who left the band to form Massacre.
