Sinopsis. Italia, 1900. El bebé de la joven Agata nace muerto, y por lo tanto es condenado al Limbo. Agata se entera de la existencia de un lugar en las montañas donde los bebés pueden volver a la vida con solo un respiro, para poder ser bautizados. Así que emprende un viaje con el pequeño cuerpo de su hija escondido en una caja.
