Mike Derks (born June 28, 1968; also known by his stage name Balsac the Jaws of Death, stylized BälSäc the Jaws ‘o Death) is an American guitarist, best known as the rhythm guitarist in the American heavy metal band Gwar since 1988.
Balsac the Jaws Of Death (stylized as BälSäc the Jaws o' Death) is the rhythm guitarist/character of GWAR. He is portrayed as an insanely tall, bear-trap faced alien with horse-like bent legs with hooves.
In the original GWAR lineup, there were two separate characters named BalSac and the Jaws of Death. Jaws of Death is the character that would become Balsac the Jaws of Death; his costume was a crude version of today's Balsac.
