19 de ago. de 2021 · Wynton Marsalis with his father, Ellis Marsalis Born in 1961, he got his first trumpet at 6 and performed with the New Orleans Philharmonic at 14. He entered Juillard in 1979, joined the Jazz Messengers in 1980, and the next year put together his own jazz band - the same year he recorded the Haydn, Hummel and Leopold Mozart trumpet concertos.
Though Ellis Marsalis Jr. (1934-2020) was best known as the father of jazz musicians Wynton Marsalis and Branford Marsalis, he was an accomplished musician in his own right. A
