Alan Shacklock (born 20 June 1950) is an English musician, composer, arranger and recording producer, who lives and works in Nashville, Tennessee. His 1972 song " The Mexican " as performed by Babe Ruth is considered influential in the early development of b-boying and hip-hop culture.
Alan's celebrated musical career has achieved international acclaim for his work in Classical, Rock, Contemporary Christian and Film genres. His creative genius is multifaceted, having produced, performed, composed and arranged orchestral pieces for over 50 major release albums, while working with some of the world's most renowned artists and leading record labels.
Engaging the next generation, Alan Shacklock is a professor and teaches courses in both Audio Technology and Music Business Programs at the highly respected Belmont University in Nashville, TN USA, just off famed Music Row. Professor Shacklock combines academic scholarship with real-world industry experience.
