Delisle Harper was born in Barbados on November 20th, 1942. Harper first gained public recognition due to his role as bassist in the British rock group known as Gonzalez, formed in 1970. Harper joined Stealers Wheel in late 1972, replacing bassist Tony Williams.

DeLisle Harper: bass guitar (1973) (born Delisle McKenzie Harper, 20 November 1942). Although remembered today primarily for one or two songs, Stealers Wheel in its own time bid fair to become Britain's answer to Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Tony Williams also left shortly afterwards, and DeLisle Harper joined on bass for the tour. "Stuck in the Middle with You" reached No. 6 in the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 8 in the UK Singles Chart [6] in 1973, selling over one million copies worldwide, and was awarded a gold disc. [7] .

DeLisle Harper. The Olympic Runners were a 1970s British funk band, put together by record producer Mike Vernon who also played percussion, and fronted by singer George Chandler. They also included multi-instrumentalist Pete Wingfield, and had a number of hit singles in both the US and the UK.
