Fanita James (n. 1938) cantante estadounidense de pop soul. En 1954 formó junto a sus compañeras del Fremont High School Los Ángeles; Gloria Jones, Nanette Williams y Annette Williams; la banda The Dreamers. Más tarde pasaron a ser conocidas como The Blossoms.

Fanita’s first recordings were with Richard Berry in 1954. Fanita was part of a group of six girls at Fremont High School in Los Angeles that loved singing together.

"He's a Rebel" is a song written by Gene Pitney that was originally recorded by Vikki Carr and by the girl group the Blossoms. Produced by Phil Spector, the Blossoms' version was issued as a single credited to the Crystals, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart in November 1962. It was Spector's second chart-topper after "To Know Him Is to Love Him" (1958).

Soxx & the Blue Jeans, passed away on November 23rd. Fanita is present on the bulk of many Philles Records classics, especially those by the likes of Darlene Love, The Ronettes, and others.
