Robert Dupuis (born December 23, 1946), known professionally as Robbie Dupree, is an American singer best known for his hit songs "Steal Away" (No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100) and "Hot Rod Hearts" (No. 15).
Released in August 1999, Love Doesn't Ask is the first John Hall record of new songs in the US since 1983's Searchparty. With acoustic rhythm guitar on every song, and John's trademark strat lead on top, surrounded by the magical rhythm section work of Peter O'Brien, Jon Ossman and Joakim Lartey, it straddles the border between folk and funk.

Robbie Dupree is a singer and songwriter whose smooth but gently soulful vocal style helped earn him a pair of early-'80s soft rock hits. A New York native, he spent much of the '70s playing in bands and eventually relocated to Los Angeles, where he reinvented himself as a solo act.
