Beginning in 1997, he toured and recorded regularly with the Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet (initially an octet), which he disbanded after an ensemble performance in November 2012 in Strasbourg, France.
Machine Gun is the second album by German avant-garde jazz saxophonist Peter Brötzmann, originally released on his BRÖ label in 1968. It was later reissued on the FMP label in 1971. In 1990, FMP issued the album on CD, adding two previously unreleased alternate takes.

Originally issued on BRO (BRÖ) Records in 1968 in a limited edition, reissued on FMP Records in 1972. Track 6 recorded March 24, 1968, live at the Frankfurt Jazz Festival. Remastered at Experimental Sound Studio, Chicago. Special Thanks to Jost Gebers.

Exactly thirty years ago, in May, 1968, Peter Brötzmann made a watershed octet recording for his own record label BRO Records amid the heat of the student uprising in the left-wing leaning city of Bremen.
