Axxess & Ace is the third album by Songs: Ohia. It was recorded by Michael Krassner at Truckstop Studios in Chicago, Illinois, United States, and released by Secretly Canadian on March 15, 1999.
Many of these tracks feature remarkable backing vocals by the gifted Edith Frost which imbues them with a level of sexual tension befitting the romantically jaded and perplexed lyrics.
3 de abr. de 2024 · “Axxess & Ace” marked many firsts for Jason Molina. One is that it was recorded twice. In October of 1997 Molina and Rory Leitch, then the drummer of Bloomington-based instrumental rock band Ativin, also a Secretly Canadian recording artist, drove four hours north to Chicago to track a new batch of Molina’s songs.

15 de mar. de 1999 · And like most of his albums, Axxess & Ace flexes sterling performers in Edith Frost and Michael Krassner (who also produced) from Boxhead Ensemble. A fine meshing ethos by all involved, whose work buoys the happily dismal catechisms of Molina.
