Blasting Off is the fifth and final studio album by British rock band Red Lorry Yellow Lorry. It was released on the Sparkhead independent record label in 1991. The band at this point consisted of Chris Reed and a completely new assortment of musicians. They recorded the LP in a Los Angeles studio. Reed broke up the band soon after.
21 de feb. de 2023 · For the final release, 1991's Blasting Off, the band backing Reed is new, but the sound is familiar thanks to Reed's unique vocals, unfussy songwriting, and precise guitar paying that works in a variety of well chosen effects.
In 1991, the band released a further single, "Talking Back", and then the Blasting Off album on the tiny Sparkhead label, after which Reed broke up what was left of the band. In 2003, Reed revived the name Red Lorry Yellow Lorry and released four new songs in 2004, available via internet download only on the band’s website.
