2 de oct. de 2020 · Guitarist BILLY BAUER (1915-2005) was a hey member of the Tristano groups. He began playing banjo and switched to guitar in the early 1930s. He worked with Woody Herman in 1944, then Benny Goodman and Jack Teagarden in 1946.

With 11 previously released tracks and four alternate takes, the beautifully packaged disc reveals Bauer not as a Tristano disciple but rather a straight-ahead stylist in the mold of Jimmy Raney and Tal Farlow.
