18 de may. de 2024 · It’s remarkable that Carrie was published half a century ago. It’s a short, shocking and tragic novel that deals with issues that are still taboo decades later, whilst paving the way for many of the hallmarks of King’s horror writing.
Carrie holds a lot of weight among constant readers because it's Stephen King's first published novel. There's that infamous story of King tossing the unfinished manuscript in the trash. Tabitha fished it out and convinced her husband to finish it. The rest is history. Without this book we don't get all the great works that come after.
