Hace 2 días · In the modern era the major four styles of karate are considered to be Gōjū-ryū, Shotokan, Shitō-ryū, and Wadō-ryū. These four styles are those recognised by the World Karate Federation for international kata competition.
shitō-ryū and Shōtōkan are fundamentally very similar. So as far as switching styles goes it should be pretty smooth. Yes, I think you should still expect it to take a little getting used to. And so will everyone else. No one expects you to know shitō-ryū perfectly from the first day of training.
