The city is located in the eastern Pennine foothills and valleys of the river Don, which has four tributaries: the Loxley, the Porter Brook, the Rivelin, and the Sheaf. Sixty-one percent of Sheffield has green space, and one-third of the city is located inside the Peak District national park.
