18 de jun. de 2024 · Today’s Song of the Day comes from Peterson’s 1963 album Night Train, recorded on Verve with Ray Brown on bass and the great Ed Thigpen on drums. The tune is “Hymn to Freedom,” Peterson’s ode to the Civil Rights Movement.
31 de may. de 2024 · “Cakewalk,” one of his most famous compositions, finds him letting loose in a vehicle for his piano stride skills. The tune first appeared in his 1981 live album Nigerian Marketplace, though it had been composed by the pianist before then.
