The distress on Frank’s face and realization on the kids’ faces. Even though she wasn’t much of a mother to them, her character brought a lot to the show.

If they had done the same with Monica, I believe that she would have actually stayed instead of constantly leaving. Frank clearly wasn’t a help, and Monica’s dad was a total piece of shit. I’m not really making excuses for her, but she was clearly so mentally unwell, and I just wish she had gotten the help she needed.
