Also around this area are Teramachi and Shinkyogoku shopping arcades, linking to Nishiki Market and the lantern-adorned Nishiki Tenman-gū Shrine – it’s interesting to find a shrine located within an undercover arcade. One of my favourite walks in Kyoto during the evening is along one of the city’s main streets, Shijo-dori.
