The scam message impersonates adult children, friends or other family members.

Carries a note of urgency. Eventually asks for money – either as a loan or money to fix an issue (they often cite broken phone or laptop) Communicates only via text messages.

My dad’s lost his life savings to a scam. He was just a couple years from retirement. Victim of a scam. I want to scream and cry and wake up from this nightmare.
