Conceived as a simpler and more relaxed version of their unfinished Smile album, Smiley Smile is distinguished for its homespun arrangements, "stoned" aesthetic, and lo-fi production.
19 de may. de 2024 · I like Smiley Smile, Wild Honey, and Friends better than any version of Smile. I think Carl deserves to be spoken of as one of the finest original-generation surf guitarists, a step down from Dick Dale and Nokie Edwards but a match for anyone else. And he did have a distinctive and unique touch.
Hace 2 días · Anyway, these deep-dive albums I've been into lately include: Smiley Smile Wild Honey Friends 20/20 Sunflower Surf's Up I've been playing Friends around the clock lately and really enjoy every song on it. I think it might be my favorite of these. Although I've really been taken by Wild Honey and 20/20 too. What is your favorite of these six albums?

It was to be an LP of twelve tracks assembled from modular fragments, the same editing process used for their " Good Vibrations " single.

15 de may. de 2024 · From 1961 to 1967, Beach Boys albums were released in three formats - mono, ... One was Wild Honey, the other was Smiley Smile. They were mastered from vintage 1967 duophonic (or whatever) reel to reels (which I still see from time to time for sale). Never heard them but people have raved.
